Intro to Log Cabin Knitting Workshop

Log cabin knitting is patternless, and done by working in concentric lines using simple garter stitch. The potential to create is limitless, and whether you want to go on to create one of a kind garments or a stash-busting blanket, this class will give you the skills, tips and tricks to make log cabin knitting a regular part of your knitting practice.

Skills Covered: 

  • Long tail cast on

  • Knitting flat

  • Garter Stitch

  • Picking up selvage edges in garter

  • Itarsia

  • Grafting and 3-needle bind off

Skills Required

  • You should be comfortable casting on and able to knit

  • This class is great for all levels

Materials and Notions:

  • A selection of stash yarn that is more or less the same weight

  • A few different needle sizes that work with the yarns you have chosen eg. if you selected mostly worsted weight yarn, bring needle sizes 4 - 6 mm
