Food holds memory, culture, longing, comfort, and joy—and writing about it can be a way of understanding ourselves more deeply.
Writing from the Kitchen is a four-week online gathering for anyone who wants to write about food with more confidence, clarity, and heart. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a passionate home cook, or someone who’s never shared their work before, this circle offers a supportive space to explore your voice and tell meaningful food stories.
Each week, we’ll meet live to write together, explore craft through gentle prompts and examples, and share our work in a thoughtful, encouraging environment. We’ll focus on sensory detail, memory, place, and structure—learning how to move beyond describing food and into writing that truly evokes it.
You’ll leave the circle with at least one polished piece of culinary writing, new tools you can return to again and again, and a deeper connection to your own creative practice.
Come hungry—for words, stories, and connection.
The course runs online every Wednesday for 4 weeks from 7:30 to 9 PM AT and requires access to Zoom and Wi-Fi.
This class includes an optional one-on-one coaching session with Christine.
All classes will be recorded and available for you to watch if you are unable to attend a session.
All returning students are eligible for preferred pricing.
“Taking a writing course with Christine was one of the best creative decisions I’ve made this year. It gave me structure, encouragement, and the confidence to finally start shaping the cookbook I’ve been dreaming about. Every lesson felt thoughtful and accessible, and the community made the process feel far less lonely. I’m genuinely sad it’s over.”
“Christine is a natural teacher. She approaches even the most difficult tasks with an open, calm ease and with more than a dash of wisdom and humor. I knew her writing class would be really good for me because I tend to over think things and procrastinate. With guidance from Christine who is very much a gets stuff done type, I wanted to hone my writing skills to a new level of refinement and organization and get a lot more writing accomplished. I finished with a structured plan for my book of essays and quite a lot of writing done. The class was great - well structured but also open to a full range of creative concepts. It was a joy to be a part of the group of budding writers and support each others creative work.”
“Christine is a great teacher across all culinary fields, cookbook writing included. I participated in her online cookbook writing program and her lessons were clear, inspiring, and easy to follow. She keeps content interesting, is open to answer on the fly questions, and instructs with confidence. Similar to her traditional cooking lessons I have previously attended, her cookbook writing course left me feeling motivated and on the right track. I finished her program with a good jump on my writing, a clear plan and direction for my book, and a strong sense of community. Her industry insights were much appreciated and I highly recommend anyone wanting to explore writing to take one of her classes.”
